Bliss and Be Love

—-why hello 35 mm film, I’ve missed you—-

««A little over a month ago I was getting ready to shoot the most beautiful sunset on the beach just a few blocks from my apartment. Lets just say the universe had other plans for me. I was in such a rush and full of excitement that I forgot to zip my camera bag all the way and well, you can probably imagine the rest. I watched in slow motion my baby, my love, my SLR Canon Rebel XT fall down the cement stairs of my apartment. And it was bad, and I was a mess (just ask my mom) and I surely thought it was the end of the world. But by some good fortune it wasn’t AS bad as I thought it was. Thankfully, it was only my lens that had come to the demise of the cement stairs and not the entire body of my camera like I had thought. It was a big “phewww” moment as it would only be a $150 to fix and a huge lesson on learning to slow down compared to well, A LOT worse. But even so I was still devastated at the thought of being with out the love of my life just even for a few weeks (which by the way is still not fixed as I am a poor child and do not have the money to do so. I will be accepting any donations given :) ).»»

««UNTIL…I remembered that there used to be a love of my life before this thing we call the digital world came about…and it was my SLR Minolta Maxxum film camera. So I used what I saw as a tragedy (maybe a little dramatic I know), as a nudge in the shoulder to take a rest from the digital world, slow down and use what I had so easily forgotten about, film. And well the very next day I dug that beautiful thing right out of its box and haven’t put it down since. Lets just say that I fell RIGHT back in love with it again and it wont be going back in that box anytime soon.»»
